Hickory the Scottish Deerhound wins Best In Show

Hickory, a 5 year old Scottish Deerhound was crowned Best in Show at the grand finale of the 135th annual Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show Tuesday night February 15.
Judge Paolo Dondina of Italy picked Hickory from a best-of-seven final show ring made. The other contestants for Best in Show included Malachy, a Pekingese (Toy Group); Mr. Baggins, a bearded collie (Herding Group) ; Jayne, a Chinese Sharpei (Nonsporting Group); Adam, a smooth-fox terrier (Terrier Group); Ladybug, a Portuguese water dog (Working Group); and Beckham, a black cocker spaniel (Sporting Group).
Hickory, whose full name is Grand Champion Foxcliffe Hickory Wind is owned by Sally Sweatt and her breeders Cecilia L Dove and Dr R Scott Dove on whose farm she lives. She typically spends her days on the 50-acre farm in Flint Hill, Va., chasing rabbits and deer.
This was the first time a Scottish deerhound took the big prize at the most prestigious dog show in the country.
Not my choice, but then I don’t know anything about this breed. Congrats to Hickory.

Personally I thought the Pekingese should win, But congrats to Hickory just the same
